Removing existing rules from BC stratas for age and rental restrictions could significantly shift the landscape of values and supply/demand in Victoria. While stratas will still have the power to limit short-term rentals, existing rental restriction bylaws for regular rentals are likely to be eliminated. Many Victoria strata complexes have restrictions on rentals or age, or both. Once enacted, it would be a good time to consider an investment unit near UVIC, where many buildings currently are both age and rental restricted.
